Our sliding releases are much, much easier than traditional line clamps to operate. To operate just pinch the spring loaded lever down to quickly load or to automatically release your line. Now you don’t ever have to worry about losing your boards again because of weak line clamps or rough seas. We use a large stainless steel sleeve over the retaining pin so you can use this release with all your fishing line types including superbraid. All stainless hardware combined with super tough engineered acetal plastic that can be used in all weather conditions and is drop, gas and oil resistant. Install onto the rear of your planer boards with the included two stainless steel screws.
USE TIPS
How we use them. We use the "loop" method to manually release the line from the front clip with a sharp lift of the rod. We let the board slide down the line and stop at a bead in front of our 4-foot leader. This method has the following advantages:
- It swings the board to the back of the boat out of the way of tangles,
- it easier to reel in because board is backwards,
- the board being at the top of the leader lifts the lure and/or fish up and over the lines.
- We no longer need to stop to pull board off because the board is a few feet in front of lure/fish.
To use with tattle flags, or to prevent lost boards, add this release to the back of your board. Thread your line through this release and use your board as you do now.
